These are special sheets made into a grid of cm. squares allowing comparison of areas.

Each smaller square of the grid is 1 square cm.


Answer: In order to calculate the perimeter the length of each of the four sides of the square grid sheet should be added together.
The length of the perimeter is 48 cm.
(48=12+12+12+12)

Each small square area is 1 square cm.


Answer: The area of each grid paper is calculated by multiplying the lengths of two adjacent sides of the squares. The area is 144 square cm.
